Charles Spencer Anderson Design (often referred to as CSA) began in 1989 with a single client: the French Paper Company. This relationship has endured over a quarter of a century; 2011 marked French Paper’s 140th anniversary.

Anderson’s French Paper Company marketing materials have been some of the most fun and engaging pieces of art that I’ve had the pleasure to come across in my design career.

The history of CSA Images goes further back though. The collection, launched in the 1970’s, has grown into a highly-awarded archive of modern icons, design elements and unique illustrations.

This continually-expanding designer’s resource, inspired by the visual history of typography, design and art, has appeared in Fortune, Rolling Stone, The New York Times, Entertainment Weekly, Vanity Fair, GQ and other top publications.

The iconic, often kitschy illustrations have also graced posters, gift wrapping, plates, sneakers, watches, cologne bottles, pillows as well as countless books and notecards.

CSA Design has been awarded top honors in every major design competition, including multiple gold pencils from The One Show and multiple gold and silver awards from the New York Art Directors Club.

Add worldwide museum exhibitions (The Institute of Contemporary Arts, London; The Library of Congress Permanent Collection, Washington D.C.; The Museum Für Gestaltung, Zürich; The Museum Für Kunst und Gewerbe, Hamburg; The Bibliothèque nationale de France, etc.) and you begin to realize the enormous impact this design dream team has had on the creative industry.
