What are 3 things you’re passionate writing about?
Travel, tech and lifestyle.
Is blogging your full-time job?
YES! I blog full-time. I started blogging in 2010, close to the start of the Vancouver Winter Olympics. Shortly after, I registered at SFU Harbour Centre, rolled up my sleeves and got into copy editing, proofreading as well as numerous core and elective courses (16 in total), receiving my copy editing certificate at the start of 2014.
How do your earn money by blogging?
A question I get asked all the time. I sell my photography, write, contribute to outlets small and large and work on a sponsored post basis for various brand campaigns.
Why Vancouverscape?
I was looking for a way to build a blog based around Vancouver, but not specific to the city. The “landscape” surrounding this beautiful city can refer to outside British Columbia, North America, or the world, thus Vancouverscape. I’m always trying to find a way to creatively combine travel, tech and lifestyle. In retrospect, I am so glad I chose three topics to create content around, not just one. Hopefully, our readers will get curious about some of the products featured or destinations covered.
What programs do you use to edit your photos?
Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop. Together they’re the perfect editing duo for my needs.
What cameras do you use?
For travels, Lumix LX100, Go Pro HERO 7 Black, iPhone XR. For home shoots, Nikon D90.
What do you love to photograph the most?
Landscapes, wildlife, architecture, sunsets.
What’s your go-to tech gadget?
iPhone, Lumix camera, iPad and GoPro (not necessarily in that order). Another tech staple is my ClamCase Bluetooth keyboard, for times I want to carry extra camera gear and leave my laptop at home.
Fave destination?
I’d have to say anywhere there’s clear blue water and a chance to snorkel. Kauai has become a recent love. Tallinn is also a treasure trove of beautiful architecture and gorgeous cafes, as is Budapest, a city I much enjoyed revisiting this spring. Lately, I’ve been reliving an amazing two weeks in Shanghai. The list of places goes on.
