Time for a new iPhone, and with that, new cases to review! Speck Products sent me two from the latest collection — one clear, one coloured. Both will fit the iPhone 6 and 6s.
The CandyShell Clear is meant to meet or exceed military standards for shock. The phone was tested with the MIL-STD-810G drop test standard, taking into account the influences that environmental stress has on a particular material throughout its lifespan.
There’s two layers of protection built into this case including an exterior polycarbonate to disperse impact, custom engineered soft acrylic to absorb shock, and (something I’m always looking for) material that resists yellowing over time.
The CandyShell Clear snaps on pretty easily and allows all ports, switches and camera lens to work accordingly. The obvious advantage of a clear case is to allow your phone’s beauty to shine through. I also found this case, along with its protective bevel, easy to take on and off the phone.
Going for the brighter side of things, Speck’s brought the CandyShell Grip back into the iPhone 6 series lineup with new colour combinations and the grippy texture that makes holding onto the phone a breeze.
I got mine in the River Blue/Tahoe Blue combo.
