Even though we’ve been out enjoying beach walks, cycling and hiking this month, we’re always on the lookout for good trainers. With summer starting to wind down, it’s time for us to check out a couple of Saucony training kicks for women.
We chose two from the Massachusetts-based athletic brand: the Ride ISO 2 for runners and the Integrity ST 2 for power walkers.
[ISO Ride in Black/Gold]
Ride ISO 2
From the moment I put these on, I feel the cushioning around my heel and arch support via the midsole. These neutral running shoes are made comfortable via Saucony’s proprietary PWRFOAM midsole, meant to absorb impact. Their EVERUNTM topsole is built to last while providing pressure relief. The breathable mesh toebox keeps your feet cool on sweaty runs.
The Ride ISO 2 is designed to help runners who suffer from underpronation aka supination, a condition where the brunt of each step you take is borne along the outside edge of the foot.
These shoes help correct this imbalance to help minimize heel pain, knee and hip pain, plantar fasciitis (my long-time enemy!) and even chronic back pain.
The shoes’s tongue continues along the sides of the shoe via the same stretchy, breathable material for a supportive fit.
They also happen to be lightweight and I noticed provide great traction on pavement.

The Ride ISO 2 comes in five colours: Blue/Coral, Black/Gold, Grey/Blue, Ice Quake (the ones I’m featuring) and Purple, sized from 5 to 12 (including half sizes). It also comes in men’s (sizes 7 to 15) and big kids (sizes 1 to 7) versions.
Integrity ST 2
I’ve searched for a walking-specific training shoe for ages and finally discovered that Saucony makes one! The Integrity ST 2 is a solid choice for comfort, cushioning and impact. This full-grain, flexible leather shoe contains Saucony’s Forefoot Stretch Zone to give that area a comfortable fit during power walks.
These look like a classic aerobics shoe but are enhanced for walkers of all fitness levels!
