Summer Splash: KitsFest Returns for 15th Season This Weekend

KitsFest, Vancouver’s annual #1 sport and art beach festival, returns this weekend at Kitsilano Beach. This acclaimed sports and arts festival boasts something for everyone, and promotes active living and healthy lifestyle in our community through a wide range of sports events.

Highlights include:
– Boys, Girls and Men’s Basketball Tournament lead by Misty Thomas (former Canadian National Women’s Basketball team captain) and Sylvester Noel.

– Urban Rec Recreational Volleyball Tournament
Time: Friday – Sunday, 9 am to sunset

– Granville Island Brewing Roundnet Tournament in partnership with Urban Rec
Time: Sunday, 10:30 am to 3 pm

– Elite 2-on-2 Volleyball Tournament “King and Queen of the Court” by Natura Solutions
Time: Saturday and Sunday, 9 am to sunset

– Doubles Tennis Tournament by Babolat
Partnered with Rackets & Runners, led by Ryan Clarke
Time: Friday to Sunday, 9 am to 5 pm

– Lululemon Sunset Beach Yoga by Shayla Stonechil
Time: Friday, 8 pm to 10:45 pm

– Red Zone Touch Football Tournament lead by former NFL/CFL football player Daved Benefield
Time: Sunday, 9 am to 5:30 pm

– Beer Garden hosted by Granville Island Brewing
Open all weekend from 11 am to sunset

Movie: The Art of Racing in the Rain
Location: North End of Kits Beach
 Time: Saturday, 8:45 pm to 10:30 pm

There will also be a Kids Fun Zone where young children can explore art, music, dance and sport, led by Katrina Lazzarotto, Director of Soccer Tots camp for ages 6-12 years young.
