Exploring Beautiful Bonaire with Caribe Car Rental

Caribe Car Rental is a family-owned rental car company with over 20 years in service. They even include free pick up or drop off service to the airport (or from any location on the island).

Once you’ve arrived at the airport, one of their agents will meet you and bring you to the rental car office (and drop you back off after returning your chosen vehicle).

We rented an MG ZS compact SUV which was ideal for day trips around Bonaire! Depending on the season, weather conditions vary from hot and sunny to sudden tropical downpours, so we were happy having an SUV for a better overview of the roads versus a standard-height sedan.

Economy cars, SUV’s, pickup trucks, jeeps and sedans are available from one-day (CDW insurance and taxes included) to multi-day periods.

They’ve even got a snazzy white Mustang 1966 that can be booked for special occasions, such as weddings, anniversaries, birthdays or a photo shoot.

If you’re planning on entering Washington Slagbaai National Park in Bonaire’s northwest pocket, it’s required to have a four-wheel drive vehicle to handle the bumpy off-road conditions. Divers will also want to rent a pick-up truck for air tanks.

Caribe’s easy-to-navigate website lists every vehicle in their line-up along with national park/suitability, plus day/weekly rental pricing in low/high season. As you start the online reservation process, you’ll be able to select from various types of optional insurance packages and indicate the need for child seats or tank racks (both included free of charge with rentals).

Caribe has several pick-up truck options in their fleet, including Mitsubishi L-200 Deluxe, Ram 1200, Ram 4×4, Nissan Navara, Chevy Colorado 4×4 as well as Jimmy and Jeep Wrangler jeeps. All have the necessary AC too.

There’s a USD $10 fee for adding another driver to your rental agreement (all drivers must be at least 23 years of age).
