Amigo Car Rental, a local business established in 1995 (happy 25th!) by a very passionate, inspiring and determined couple, started their rental agency with just five vehicles at a small home office in Aruba’s Rooi Santo district.
Since then, Amigo has expanded to a fleet of 151 vehicles between two convenient locations.
Getting behind the wheel of both compact models (and later, a 4×4 Isuzu truck) allowed us the freedom to explore some of the island’s gorgeous beaches, visit shops and restaurants as well as go off-roading in gorgeous Arikok National Park.

There’s a range of vehicles available depending on your needs, from a compact Toyota Yaris or Kia Picanto to 4×4 models (Jeep Wrangler, Isuzu D-Max 4×4).
The new Aruba Health & Happiness Code certification helps ensure the safety and well-being of both visitors and locals to the island, with thorough sanitizing between bookings.
All of Aruba’s businesses – including Amigo – have taken every measure to offer a safe environment as the pandemic continues.
Amigo Car Rental’s main office is close to the hotel zone; their airport office is right across the street from arrivals.
You can also opt for free pick-up and drop-off to and from your hotel. Whether you’re looking for short- or long term rentals, there’s several discounted offers and seasonal specials worth looking into.
Find Amigo at Schotlandstraat 56 in Oranjestad and across from the Queen Beatrix Airport arrivals terminal. Visit them online for details, offers and reservations.
