The NH Collection Munich Bavaria, formerly the NH München Deutscher Kaiser, is a beautiful property close to the main train station and an easy walk to the Old town. This hotel served us very well in comfort, hospitality, and location: Our morning high-speed train to Frankfurt Airport departed from just across the street!

As you enter the lobby, a bank of reception desks are located at the back wall, surrounded by cozy seating arrangements and a couple of work tables off to the right. The lobby bar is also located here, serving both German and international wines, plus a variety of cocktails and seasonal food menu (think salads, soups, sandwiches, pizzas, burgers, seafood, and pasta).

Backlighting adds a bit of ambience to the beige quilted headboard, containing two wall-mounted, adjustable reading lights, as well as European and USB outlets on each side of our king-sized bed. Bedding is very comfortable with a firm mattress for a good rest.

The brand’s own green tea amenity line is wall-mounted in both the shower and by the sink. Hotels are doing away with small, single-use plastic bottles in favour of larger, refillable, environmentally-friendly versions.

A thoughtful little night kit is provided at turn-down, containing eye mask, ear plugs, and pillow spray, along with a sweet treat and laundry bag. A bedtime Spotify playlist can be yours via a QR code scan.

Another QR code is provided in the room to give guests an easy way to request extra amenities, reception service, technical assistance, laundry service, as well as hotel information and online check-out. The hotel offers bike rental (and tour suggestions) as well (EUR 18 for up to eight hours, EUR 10 for up to four hours; EUR 2 per additional hour per bike).
