Drawing inspiration from the city’s historic orange grove roots, The Westin Anaheim Resort is a stylish property suited for both work and pleasure.
The light and airy lobby extends in two directions: one towards the meeting and ballrooms, the other towards the pool and fitness center. It’s the ideal spot for meeting up with friends, having a drink at the bar, relaxing after a day exploring the sights, or following an event at the adjacent Anaheim Convention Center.
Rooms
As this hotel is only four years old, everything is super modern, designed with tech, comfort, and sustainability in mind. There’s a good amount of space under the marble-topped bathroom sink, plus several towel hooks for reuse.
A small marble table and sofa bed are framed in between a pair of sleek brass accent lights. Underneath the flatscreen smart TV is a handy shelf for keeping small essentials handy.
Lots of easy USB and standard outlet sockets at both sides of the bed (and near the larger marble-topped work table) are well positioned for charging several gadgets at once. Two leather swivel chairs complete the room’s living area.
The sliding glass door leads to a small outdoor couch, plus a set of tables and chairs. When left open, another wall panel illuminates and the airco system shuts off. And speaking of airco, this one is whisper-quiet.
[Many of the property’s rooms boast views of Disneyland and its nightly fireworks]
Room temperature, lighting, privacy notification, and guest service requests are controlled at either bedside or by the front entrance via state-of-the-art panels.
With an eye on sustainability, the resort uses an in-house filtration system to purify and filter local water into drinkable water.
Sound sleep is at the core of Westin Resorts — all rooms are outfitted with a supportive, comfortable Westin Heavenly bed and pillow-top mattress to compliment the brand’s Heavenly White Tea scented bath amenity line. Before bedtime, roll a little Sleep Well lavender balm, found at the bedside, onto your temples or wrists for a calm sleep.
A Keurig coffee machine with a coffee and tea supply drawer, mini fridge, plus a roomy, auto-lit closet containing a bathrobe, safe, iron and ironing board are located in the entryway.
The brand’s own amenity line is wall-mounted in the shower. As with many hotels, small plastic bottles are being eliminated in favour of larger, refillable versions.

Dining
Westin Anaheim’s array of dining options offers something to please all palates, from prime steaks and seafood to casual, comfort foods. Their Eat Well menu focuses on nutritionally-sound dishes, juices, and smoothies, together with a special healthy kid’s menu.
You can also reserve a picnic box filled with easy-to-port items to take to the beach, on a hike, or to Disneyland.
Celebrate locally-sourced, seasonal fare at the Westin Anaheim’s signature restaurant, the Tangerine Room, with a paired beverage program. The Tangerine Room features all-day dining in a modern indoor space as well as a cozy outdoor area decorated with orange sails and hanging bistro lights.
As well as steaks, chops, and poultry from the Butcher Block portion of the menu, there’s seafood, pasta, a range of inventive starters, plus optional vegetarian and vegan menus to suit a wider choice of dietary preferences.
Take in amazing views of Disneyland Resort and the nightly fireworks show at RISE Rooftop Lounge, serving up Mediterranean-inspired share dishes, handcrafted cocktails, and a good range of wines.
Bella’s Splash Pool Bar is the place for comfort food for kids and adults alike. Their current menu features salads, fruit bowls, wraps, burgers, hot dogs, pizzas, and sweets.
Start the morning with gourmet coffee, a juice or smoothie, baked goods or a grab-and-go sandwich or salad at Blossom Cafe & Market.
This super convenient spot is also ideal for packing an airport meal on the go! There’s also an adjacent boutique for clothing, gifts, and sundries.
Looking for a prime steak, seafood or even a plant-based entrée? Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse and Wine Bar offers both indoor and outdoor dining, with a menu of choice steak cuts (including bone-in Ribeye, Tomahawk, New York Strip, Filet Mignon) as well as shellfish towers, Ahi Tuna poke stacks, salads, soups, and shareable sides to pair with a craft cocktail, beer or wine.
Their selection of red, white, and sparkling wines has been sourced from the finest vineyards around the world, from Napa Valley to Italy.
Puesto is a beautifully designed space to enjoy Mexican favourites such as taquitos, flautas, quesadillas, enchiladas, plus a wide selection of tacos.
A series of movable shelves surrounding the central bar is stocked with a seemingly infinite selection of tequila and spirits. The drinks menu features Tequila- and private batch Mezcal flights. Speciality cocktails, margaritas, beer, wine, and mocktails round out an entire page of bevvy options. On Tuesdays from 3 pm to closing, it’s Taco Tuesday: 1/2 off all tacos. There’s also a daily happy hour from 3-6 pm.
For a light meal to pair with a curated cocktail, it’s Bar 1030, in the heart of the hotel lobby.
Well-Being
With so much dining both at the Disney resorts and in town, burn some of those calories inside Westin Anaheim’s 2,860-square-foot WestinWORKOUT Fitness Studio.
The pool-view space contains TRX training equipment, free weights, cardio machines, and a Hyperice recovery station. I’m a fan of portable Hyperice massagers as they help recover tired, sore muscles after workouts and travel days.
Westin loans yoga and workout gear to guests by request, including a yoga mat, blocks, and resistance bands. The post-workout Hyperice Recovery and Recharge Kit includes the Hypervolt, Hypersphere Go, and Normatec Go, three state-of-the-art recovery tools to help with muscle recovery and improve flexibility.
While the Hypersphere Go is a massage ball with three vibration speeds that you can roll over muscles, the Hypervolt can reduce stress, prevent muscle injuries, and promote overall muscle health. And the Normatec Go recovers tired leg muscles. It feels good to rejuvenate after a busy day using these portable wellness devices as targeted massage tools.
In fact, you can turn your stay here into a wellness weekend with sound sleeps, fresh juices, a morning swim, workouts in the fitness center or a self-guided jog or walk around town — just ask for a RunWESTIN local running/walking map.
The hotel’s heated outdoor swimming pool and whirlpool includes five luxury cabanas (plus a larger 20 x 10 foot cabana for groups) for a pampered pool day.

Resort parking is $39 and there’s an onsite EV charging station.
Area Attractions
Disneyland Resort, Disney California Adventure Park, Anaheim Convention Center, Angel Stadium, Honda Center, plus beaches, shopping, and dining are all in the local vicinity, making this hotel an ideal base for exploring.
[Disneyland Resort’s Haunted Mansion just reopened with The Nightmare Before Christmas]
A new entrance to Downtown Disney opened up just a few months ago, so it’s even easier to get to the Disney resorts from the Westin, with a 10-minute or so walk along Disneyland Drive from Katella Avenue and a left turn by Pixar Place Hotel.
Leaving your car at the hotel and walking to Disney is a true luxury, made even more special with illuminated palm tree-lined walk in the evening.

Located at 1030 West Katella Avenue, The Westin Anaheim Resort is easy to reach by taxi (roughly 20 minutes from John Wayne Airport), car share, and Anaheim Transport Network’s on-demand shuttle service.
