HOKA was founded on the idea of maximal cushioning, a concept that inspired the creation of the original Bondi. First launched in 2011, HOKA’S Bondi quickly became a favorite among runners for its unique combination of cushioning and support, helping set a new standard in the running world.

The shoe marked a major milestone for the brand and established HOKA as a leader in performance footwear. Notably, the Bondi was the first shoe to introduce runners to the concept of a cushioned, casual walking and road-running shoe.
Casual trainers have become one of the defining pieces of modern everyday style because they bridge the gap between comfort and fashion so effortlessly.
What was once reserved for the gym or weekend errands is now fully integrated into polished daily dressing, a shift that has transformed the way people build wardrobes.
One key reason why trainers work so well in daily wear is versatility: They soften more structured pieces and make outfits feel approachable and lived-in. A crisp summer dress paired with clean white trainers creates an easy contrast between feminine and sporty, giving the look movement and practicality without sacrificing style.
Trainers fit naturally into a lifestyle that doesn’t require multiple outfit changes throughout the day, yet still allows for creativity and personal expression.
And since we’re all about comfort, we looked to HOKA’s Bondi 9 and Gaviota 6 walking shoes, the latest best-sellers in their lineup.

The Bondi 9 contains a soft, highly cushioned ride powered by a lighter, more responsive foam for added resilience and long-lasting comfort.
The Bondi 9’s midsole geometries and rearfoot-focused Active Foot Frame™ enhance support and stability, while an additional 2mm of stack height and a refined MetaRocker™ create an even smoother plush experience.
Their massive, 43mm outsole soaks up impact, saving your joints, while the padding around the tongue and 3D-molded collar prevent any pressure points from hitting your feet, while the foam will mold nicely to your feet once you’ve had the chance to break them in a bit.
The elevated structured and breathable knit upper provides a more accommodating, comfortable fit.
Finished with durabrasion rubber in high-wear areas of the outsole, the Bondi 9 is built to deliver reliable, stable traction and performance, mile after mile. My husband found that the Bondi 9’s run a bit more narrow than the 8’s, so keep that in mind when sizing. They have a comfortable fit right from the start.
They’re available in men’s regular, wide, and x-wide, sizes 7 to 16 (and in women’s 4 to 12; half sizes 6 to 11) in a variety of colour combinations to suit your wardrobe; CAD $200/USD $175
While the Bondi 9 series introduces a new premium midsole foam made with supercritical foamed EVA, the Gaviota 6 delivers a smoother, more stable ride thanks to its upgraded H-frame technology that provides support without stiffness.

Built to reduce overpronation while maximizing comfort, the Gaviota 6 features a breathable mesh upper, a plush collar, and a secure internal lacing system.

A durable high-abrasion rubber outsole, reflective detailing for visibility as well as a heel pull tab to get them on and off with ease complete the design for reliable performance on the road.

These are super comfy and provide space for your toes to breathe, so we can get in longer walks without that cramped, sweaty feeling. We wish that more footwear brands would offer this kind of room in their shoes!
