As of this month, they’ve launched a new service: Off-the-Boat Catering, an ideal option for companies (and groups) to get five-star cuisine and service delivered straight to their event. Off-the-Boat was launched in response to numerous client requests; the team can now service clients for social or private events anywhere throughout Vancouver’s Lower Mainland.

Off-the-Boat is perfectly suited for corporate luncheons, birthday parties, wedding or anniversary celebrations, large gala events and holiday parties. Executive Chef Mardy Ra, Director of Events and Operations David Feys and their team of pros are ready to put together the perfect event to suit your needs.

Last week, I attended a private launch party in cozy venue space LoungeWorks to sample the beautiful creations and drinks that will be offered as part of Off-the-Boat’s catering menu.

Chef Ra’s menu is BC-focused to take advantage of our local bounty; the PYC Off-the-Boat Catering team can also prepare delicious gluten-, dairy- and nut-free dishes, as well as vegetarian and vegan creations.

Cambodian-born Chef Ra is noted for infusing Asian-inspired dishes and canapés that bring the best from today’s food trends including edible botanicals, distinctly tasteful tart flavours and inspirations from his homeland. He’s worked at prestigious properties including the Park Hyatt in Melbourne, Australia, Diva at the Met at Vancouver’s Metropolitan Hotel and most recently at Railtown Catering.

Living and working in great culinary centres such as Phnom Penh, Montreal and Boston has helped Ra bring a fresh, distinct take on fine Pacific Northwest cuisine to PYC Off-the-Boat.

David Feys joined Pacific Yacht Charters in late 2015 after running his own catering and event design business Feys + Hobbs Catered Arts for nearly 20 years in Victoria, BC. Trained as a chef, he has honed his skills and love of event planning to provide clients with truly unique, one-of-a-kind events that reflect his love of both gourmet cuisine and design.
