Luxury fashion brand UGG was founded in 1978 by Australian surfer Brian Smith, who relocated from his native Australia to the California coast with a dream of designing footwear. This winter, we’ve decided to feature their Ansley slipper, a classic moccasin styled with UGG’s unique stitching and a heat-embossed logo.
This super cozy, wool-lined slipper starts out a bit snug at the beginning, but moulds to your feet as you wear them. After about four or five wears, they begin to settle in and feel less tight, and keep your feet nice and warm, yet not too toasty.
They’re designed with a water-resistant suede upper, and are lined with a combination of upcycled wool and TENCEL Lyocell. The molded rubber outsole provides some traction as you walk around the house, cabin, or hotel room.
In addition, the Ansley is produced in a factory that supports women through HERproject, an initiative that both empowers and educates women in the workplace.
UGG sent us a pair in their flagship Chestnut colour to check out, but they’re also available in Black, Espresso, and Light Grey, in sizes 5 to 12, including standard and wide widths. CAD $106.25 (currently on sale); USD $100.
