39 days of tournament action – with seven matches hosted in Vancouver – brought a fabulous energy to the city as fans from around the world cheered for their countries in our streets, bars, and watch parties. Vancouver was transformed into a citywide celebration that has created memories long after the final whistle, yet one unique installation remains: Recouver.
Hammock Goals, a series of custom hammocks crafted from soccer nets supplied by BC Place, have popped up at locations across the city and over to Grouse Mountain, including one made from the actual FIFA World Cup™ Vancouver match-played goal net. Destination Vancouver’s Recouver in Vancouver invites visitors to slow the pace, look back on all the FIFA excitement, and experience the city from a more relaxed perspective.
As hammock fans, we can totally get behind this brilliant upcycling program for all to enjoy.

Additional Vancouver-made hammocks will also be gifted to the Swiss Football Association and Football Australia as a reminder of their historic matches in the city as well as an open invitation to return and recouver, any time.
