Surrey World Music Marathon

The Surrey International Marathon Society is pleased to announce the lineup of exciting cultural artists who will perform along the marathon route and at the finish line for the Second Annual Surrey International World Music Marathon on September 29.

Surrey Marathon

This innovative marathon will feature ‘Cultural Music Miles’ with live colourful musical performances highlighting each mile along the marathon route. World music performers and cultural organizations will showcase their art, music, costumes and dance to celebrate Surrey’s multicultural heritage and encourage runners as they make their way through the streets of Surrey to the finish line.

A total of 34 performance stations encompassing 18 distinct cultures will line the course, supported by hundreds of volunteers and race enthusiasts. Surrey Marathon Society Chair Elizabeth Model notes, “The new course has provided even more stations and performance areas for our local cultural groups and artists to entertain the runners. We’re looking forward to a wonderful mix of singers, dancers, drummers and entertainers, who will animate the course as our runners attempt to set new course records”.
