We’ve recently discovered Secret Wood, a Vancouver start-up that specializes in beautiful hand-crafted wood and resin jewellery.
Founder Roman Wood began the business nearly three years ago in a small Railtown workshop and since then Secret Wood’s collection has grown to include dozens of nature-inspired rings, pendants, bracelets and nightlights.

Each miniature world fuses fantasy with a natural landscape, incased in resin and containing different types of wood, inspired by both Vancouver and Canada. Additional decorative elements include blossoms and flakes of gold.
As each piece is one-of-a-kind, Secret Wood jewellery can take from three to six weeks to complete (good to consider if you’re starting to think holiday gifting). Secret Wood’s craftsmen have spent countless hours in developing the processes and procedures that guarantee a durable, long-lasting wearable work of art.

It was hard to narrow my choice down to one ring, as each piece is amazing, but eventually, I chose the Golden Glacier ring.
My ring arrives packaged inside a mini treasure chest with a bronze latch, the ring itself protected by soft moss. The ring feels smooth on my finger and wears comfortably.
Check out Secret Wood’s World Turtle collection, containing a sterling silver base with interchangeable shells made from exotic wood and resin. They come with a 20” sterling silver chain too.
According to the website, turtles figure prominently in Hindu, Chinese and Indigenous mythology; these cultures believe that the world can be found on the back of a turtle.
Turtles possess perseverance, longevity and determination, serving as inspiration for Secret Wood to create these pretty pieces.
