SHOREfest 2009

SHORE 104.3 FM’s SHOREfest will return to this year’s Honda Celebration of Light. This free concert series of fabulous Canadian bands runs all day ahead of the fireworks at Sunset Beach and English Bay on July 28, August 1 and 4.

SHOREfest represents Vancouver’s finest with free live music, fireworks displays, a vendor village and spending the day (and night) with ocean views and sand between your toes. These three events make for a great staycation or way to entertain out of town guests.

This year’s SHOREfest lineup presented by Shore 104 features national rockers The Trews plus Said the Whale and Bahamas headlining the Shore 104 Stage in English Bay. Canadian icon Joel Plaskett, the Great Lake Swimmers, and a rare appearance by The Be Good Tanyas will perform on The Rogue Stage at Sunset Beach.

“Shore 104 is excited to showcase such a diverse and exciting line up of Canadian artists,” said Ronnie Stanton, Operations Manager and Brand Director, Shore 104. “With dozens of free concerts and spectacular fireworks displays this is the perfect way to take full advantage of what will be an incredible Vancouver summer.”

Vancouverites and tourists are invited to bring blankets and head down to Vancouver’s waterfront early to snag a prime spot to enjoy the free entertainment before watching three new countries compete in the world’s largest offshore international fireworks competition: Vietnam (July 28), Brazil (August 1), and Italy (August 4).

Each night beginning at 10 pm, the accompanying fireworks soundtrack will be simulcast live and exclusively on SHORE 104 at 104.3 FM, on our iPhone app, or online. All performances are free.
