This week, my husband came home with a surprise – a complimentary two night stay at the Black Rock Oceanfront Resort in Ucluelet! He was one of the lucky raffle winners at a Ride2Survive fundraiser held at Moose’s Down Under on Pender Street. The fundraiser pub night was an evening of fun trivia contests and other donated prizes, including a weekend at the Watermark Beach Resort in Osoyoos.
The Ride2Survive is a cycling event in support of the Canadian Cancer Society. A team of 120 dedicated riders will cycle 400 kilometers in a single day, covering 12,000 feet of elevation, all the way from Kelowna to Delta!
They will depart Kelowna in the early hours of June 23, arriving later that evening to a warm reception in Delta. They’ll ride together, fully supported by a dedicated group of volunteers and support vehicles.
Ride2Survive is now in its 8th year. The entire event is volunteer-run; riders pay their own costs, thus 100% of fundraising goes directly to the Canadian Cancer Society. The group’s goal this year is to raise $400,000.
