Know any kids between the ages of six and 16 that are passionate about The Beautiful Game? The Real Madrid Foundation Clinics provides a chance to experience what it’s like to train in a big football club. And the clinics are coming to BC!

Kids and youth soccer players can train incorporating the same methods used in top-notch soccer club Real Madrid, winners of the 2016 Champions League and FIFA Best Club of the 20th century.

What a unique experience, being able to train using the same program that’s produced soccer legends such as Cristiano Ronaldo, Gareth Bale and Karim Benzema.

The first of these five-day, world-class clinics will take place in Surrey on July 4.

I recently had the chance to interview Ghandi Eideh from local marketing group GAE Marketing Group, who’ve partnered with the Real Madrid Foundation in bringing these clinics to BC.

Q. What’s the most exciting aspect of this program for the kids?

A. Kids can experience the “Realway”, which means they get first hand exposure of the same values and training methodology as used in Real Madrid’s Youth Academy via our world-famous training and teaching sessions. The fact that kids are trained by Real Madrid academy coaches from Madrid and get the chance to train like past and present greats such as Cristiano Ronaldo, Gareth Bale and Karim Benzema really is a once in a lifetime chance in my opinion! Being part of our clinics is much more than playing soccer, it’s about bringing support to our charity-social projects around North America which is one of the Real Madrid Foundation objectives.

Q. Once they’re through the program, what other training can they receive to further a potential soccer career?

A. Advanced clinics will be scheduled in the future for our top performing players, and we are looking forward to next year when we will send some kids to train and play at the Real Madrid academy in Madrid, Spain.

Q. Which Canadian province seems to hold the most interest for young soccer fans?

A. Soccer is the fastest growing sport in Canada. The huge crowds soccer events in British Columbia draw in such as the Women’s World Cup Final game, and  the World Cup qualifications game between Canada vs. Mexico, really encouraged us to launch our first series of clinics in British Columbia. That said, the rest of Canada still remains a key focus for us – we think it’s important that all Canadians get to experience the Real Madrid experience.
