Vancouver comfort food lovers, take note: There’s a new pub in town opening today, filled with eye-catching posters, memorabilia and knick-knacks. Leopold’s Tavern is the newest eatery along the West Broadway corridor near Fir Street.
Home of the proper 20 oz. pint, this “community bar” honours its former tenant, Stormcrow, with a branded t-shirt stapled to the ceiling. In addition to a rotating beer selection, the drinks menu offers cocktails, margaritas, wine, bubbles and booze-free beverages.
From its first location in Regina, Saskatchewan 10 years ago, fans have added their own whimsy to the brand’s 22 other locations via posters, 45’s, license plates, you name it! The Vancouver location sports a Polaroid wall ready to be filled with customer photos (just ask to have your photo taken at the bar). About 3,000 items leave Leopold’s storage locker to grace the interior of each Leopold’s eatery!
Local artist William Phillips created a custom wall mural in The Crow’s Nest near the jukebox.
Known for their poutine menu (including the crowd-pleasing Punchbowl, filled with five pounds of fries, plus a pound each of cheese curds and gravy!), Leopold’s serves up tasty, classic comfort food such as Cajun chicken wraps, burgers, short rib beef dips, mac and cheese, tacos and plant-based items.

Speciality items include Burger of the Month, Poutine of the Week, Monthly Tacos and Tequila Tuesdays, Weekly Wing Wednesday and Monthly Breakfast Club (Breakfast service is offered on Saturdays, Sundays and stat Mondays from 11 am to 3pm).
A nice outdoor patio just outside the front entrance is perfect for enjoying everything from al fresco poutine to deep-fried cheesecake. Delivery service is available via Leo’s To Go.
