altar boyz cast

The Altar Boyz are back in town and they’re better than ever! Intent on saving souls and raising spirits with their ability to “drop the funk” in freaky five-part harmony, Altar Boyz is an entertaining send-up of boy bands, full of sharp parody, sinfully spectacular dancing, and infectious energy. With lyrics like “Girl, You Make Me Wanna Wait” and “Jesus Called Me on my Cell Phone,” this irreverent musical comedy will wash your soul clean with laughter.
These pop heartthrobs first hit Vancouver in the summer of 2009 at the Arts Club’s Granville Island Stage, following an Arts Club tour. In total, over 34,000 audience members saw them “raise the praise” across the province. Productions of Altar Boyz have been mounted around the world, including Korea, Hungary, Finland, Australia and the Philippines.

Altar Boyz will star Jak Barradell, Jeremy Crittenden, Michael Culp, Brandyn Eddy (who I enjoyed watching in Glory Days) and Geoff Stevens.
Altar Boyz ran Off-Broadway from 2005 to 2010, gaining rapturous critical and audience acclaim while becoming the 9th longest-running Off-Broadway musical of all time. It won the 2005 Outer Critics Circle Award for Outstanding Off-Broadway Musical, as well as both the 2006 and 2007 Audience Favorite Award. Kevin Del Aguila’s book was also nominated for the Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Book in 2005.

John Jane from Review Vancouver calls it “Hugely entertaining musical theatre… This is a show that I could see again and again”.
