I Shall See

The 2nd Annual Dutch Film Festival is just around the corner and will take place over two weekends: March 27–29 and April 23–26 at four Vancouver venues to showcase dramatic features, romantic comedies, documentaries, shorts, art house and action films.

Many of these films will make their North American and Canadian premiere, with live discussions with filmmakers from Suriname and the Netherlands. Organized entirely by volunteers, the Dutch BC Board of Directors warmly invites the Dutch community and film lovers across Metro Vancouver to join in celebrating Dutch cinema, culture, and creativity.

The festival kicks off on Friday, March 27, at Vancouver’s Cinematheque with special remarks and a screening of the classic film Soldier of Orange. Throughout the first weekend, audiences will enjoy a variety of compelling films and discussions, including Ik Zal Zien, an edgy story on youth and blindness.

Together with Dutch BC’s co-presenter, the Institute for the Humanities at SFU, the Suriname/Netherlands film Monikondee will be screened. The evening will continue with a lively film event at Container Brewing Company where the North American premiere of Land Van Johan will be screened. Container Brewing is a casual East Van brewery that combines good brews with a relaxing vibe.
