Vancouver’s 22nd Annual International Flamenco Festival is back this fall, presenting a range of performances and styles, from traditional to contemporary. Vancouver is lucky to have a rapidly growing local and national flamenco community. This festival will explore flamenco’s origins as a blend of cultures through to today’s continual evolution of music, song, and dance. From September 26 to October 2, get ready to be wowed by an abundance of talent in our city.

Some of the highlights include a lecture and dance demonstration, several soloists performing at Granville Island’s Waterfront Theatre, and two days of conference programming at the Scotiabank Dance Centre. Javier Barón – winner of Spain’s 2008 National Dance Award – will surely be a hot ticket.
