OLYMPUS will again head the Pro Photographer Showdown at the 2011 Telus World Ski and Snowboard Festival, taking place in Whistler from April 15 to 24. The Showdown is the world’s preeminent action sports photography competition.
This year’s event has already attracted an incredible diversity in photographers and subject matter. According to Event Producer Lilli Clark, “we’ve been receiving interest from surf, skate, ski and snowboard photographers from ALL over the world. Interest has come from Australia, Munich, California, France and of course Canada. The March 1st deadline for initial submissions is here, and we’re looking forward to another stellar year at the OLYMPUS Pro Photographer Showdown”.
With a prize pool of $17,000 this is no minor photography competition and 2011 is set to see a great variety of world-class photographers and their incredible eye for detail.
