Alex and Ani spring bangles-8

Alex and Ani’s jewellery line has expanded over time to include earrings, rings, necklaces and home accessories, but it’s their bangle bracelets that have amassed an almost cult-like following in the US and around the world. From Boston to Tokyo, Alex and Ani accessories are sold and collected for their cute, dangly charms and beaded accents.

Designs are meant to empower the wearer. Charms carry sentimental, protective, powerful and intentional meaning — each with their own unique energy. The fun is in finding just the pieces to convey your spirit and then layering them up to create a set that’s uniquely you.

Their latest spring collection offers a large range of colourful pieces. Pastels feature prominently as well as message charms and pull-cord and threaded bracelets adorned with Alex and Ani’s trademark mini charms.

The bangles contain a patented sliding mechanism designed to expand from 5.08 to 8.89 cm (2” to 3.5”) to fit all wrist sizes. I chose three spring pieces to highlight here.

From the Cosmic Messages collection, here’s the Moon, Tide bangle ($46 CAD) with an expandable wire and Rafaelian gold finish.

[Path of Life charm bangle]

The Path of Life charm bangle ($34 CAD) stands for strength, motivation and knowledge. The bracelet (available in both Rafaelian gold and silver finishes) dangles from the expandable part of the thick-wired bangle.

Three tiny Alex and Ani dual-sided charms float along the rest of the bracelet, with various logos stamped on them, including the company logo, a heart-shaped American flag.

Owner and founder Carolyn Rafaelian is proud to produce Alex and Ani pieces in American factories and stands behind her commitment to produce eco-conscious jewellery and accessories to “positively empower and connect humanity”.

[Soleil bangle]

From the color-beaded bangle range I chose a very spring colour to complement the Rafaelian gold finish — Soleil ($34 CAD). The bright yellow beads with gold bead accents remind me that sunshine is most definitely on the horizon after a long winter.

Several necklaces are also making an appearance in the spring lineup as well as rings, earrings and corded and knotted bracelets. In other words, there’s an Alex and Ani piece out there for everyone. Visit Alex and Ani online to shop the collection.

About Alex and Ani

Alex and Ani was started in 2004 by Carolyn Rafaelian, utilizing the jewellery factory that her father founded in 1966. Alex and Ani are the names of Carolyn’s two daughters.

I was sent these Alex and Ani bangles for a spring feature. Opinions, as always, are my own.
