It’s back! Thrill The World joins friends, families and the community – together with thousands of people around the globe – in celebrating Michael Jackson’s talent by dancing simultaneously to Thriller. Join the fun this Saturday, October 29, dress up like a zombie and get dancing!
This event’s taken the world by storm, with same-day events taking place from Canada to China.
But TTW is more than just dancing to a six-minute megahit. This is a global community project that inspires others to break down barriers, connect with people of all religions, race, political and economic persuasions, contribute to helping humanity, encourage environmental stewardship and encourage people to step up as leaders, visionaries and creators.
Last year alone, TTW Vancouver raised over $900! If you’re partaking in TWW, plan on being at one of the two final free rehearsals (October 26, 28).
IMPORTANT NOTE FROM THE ORGANIZERS
Vancouver will be participating in the Thrill The World Record Attempt with the rest of the world which means the dance must begin at exactly 3 pm. All dancers must be registered, have a name tag and need to be in the taped-off area before 2:50 pm. Latecomers will not be able to join.
This year, Thrill The World Vancouver has partnered with O’Canadawg, a new food stand concept. All their products are green, their meat is locally-sourced and gluten-free with no animal bi-products or hormones. O’Canadawg offers meat on a stick as a fun alternative to a bun and will be serving potato chips with either water, juice and pop.
10% of net sales from O’Canadawg purchases on Thrill Day will be donated to The Greater Vancouver Food Bank.
Attendees and zombies alike are encouraged to bring one of the following items to keep the food bank supply healthy during the winter:
– Canned fish/meat, beans, pasta sauce, dry lentils or peanut butter
– Baby food/formula and diapers (larger sizes)
