You’re invited to join the inaugural Wines of British Columbia Perfect Pairings Dinner at Vancouver Urban Winery on Friday, June 28. The first of four dinners to match the seasons and the bounty each provides, these events will offer a unique perspective as guest chefs prepare stunning feasts inspired by locally grown food and wine.
Set in a historic building on the edge of Gastown, Vancouver Urban Winery is the perfect venue for guest chefs Ned Bell and Trevor Bird to combine their culinary talents and showcase BC’s impeccable seasonal ingredients and wine.
[Executive Chef Ned Bell with Ocean Wise’s Mike McDermid]
Chef Ned Bell has cut an extraordinary culinary path across Canada, from Ontario’s Peninsula Ridge Estates Winery to Kelowna’s Cabana Bar and Grille. At YEW seafood + bar at the Four Seasons, Chef Bell recently picked up a silver award in the Best Seafood category at the 24th annual Vancouver Magazine Restaurant Awards.
[Fable Kitchen Chef Trevor Bird]
While competing on Season 2 of Top Chef Canada during the ever popular “Restaurant Wars” episode, Chef Trevor Bird came up with the name for the team’s farm to table restaurant concept: FABLE. The vision was born. Upon returning to Vancouver as Season 2’s runner-up, Trevor started working on this vision – a restaurant that would showcase his talents and help define Canadian cuisine. Sourcing local products and delivering great flavours, Trevor will present his take on Canadian cuisine in a fun and unpretentious setting.
[Forage Executive Chef Chris Whittaker]
More chefs have just been added to this inaugural event: Wesley Young (Wildebeest), Geoff Rogers (Fable; Top Chef Canada Season 3), Daniel Hudson (Hudson’s on First; Top Chef Canada Season 3), Chris Whittaker (Forage) and Curtis Luk (The Parker; Top Chef Canada Season 2).
