While the iPhone 6 rumor mill continues to churn out images and specs for the next Apple smart phone, I wanted to check out a few cases that would highlight the beauty and simplicity of the current 5S. Although nearly a year old, the 5s is still the latest and greatest, offering speed and some great enhancements over the last couple of generations.
The Incase Snap Case allows that beauty to shine through – literally. It’s a clear, durable plastic case that’s lightweight and easily attached to the 5 or 5s.
The rear camera area is cut out with a rounded black edge, large enough to avoid camera flash issues that apparently occurred in previous iPhone 4 cases.
All ports remain easily accessible making charging, docking, controlling volume, and powering on or off a breeze. I like it for its lightweight construction and side lip giving some front screen protection.
It also shows off the phone’s own accent color, rather than hiding it! I’m guessing the plastic rear will eventually scratch, but I’d rather have protection from the phone itself getting scratched.
In short, the Snap Case offers decent protection for the price point. If you’re looking for hardcore protection with fully beveled edges, this is not your case.
The Incase Snap Case retails for $29.95 and is available online in both Canada and the US.

I was sent the Incase Snap Case for iPhone 5 for the purpose of test-driving it for this review. I’ll be following up this 5s series with a couple other clear cases in the near future.
