A sweet new incarnation of the Tacofino empire has opened up, just off Burrard Street on Pender in the Bentall One building.
Christened Tacofino Oasis, the 1,350-square-foot, 30-seater taco and drinks restaurant has a simple decor with dusty pink mica tables and resort-inspired striped cushions, white brick walls, retro kidney-shaped mirrors around the room plus an inviting patio out back.

In keeping with Tacofino’s tradition of designing a menu unique to each location, co-owner Jason Sussman and new Regional Executive Chef Stefan Hartmann created new taco options such as Pacific Cod, Beef, Duck and Tofu; burritos in Pork Belly, Crispy Chicken, Duck, Cod Barbacoa and Cauliflower & Beet varieties; and Happy Hour features like Nachos, Beef Tamales and Crispy Octopus.
Exclusive to this location, Tacofino Oasis has introduced two ‘express’ burrito options — Beef and Bean & Cheese — available hot and ready all day. As with all Tacofino fare, each dish proudly features ingredients that are Ocean Wise-approved, antibiotic- and hormone-free, raised ethically and made locally. Both eat-in and take-out service is available.

The menu items we sampled during last night’s media preview included several burritos and tacos, nachos, beef tamales and two desserts, alongside flowing lime margaritas and refreshing beers on tap during a steamy, nearly-tropical Vancouver evening.
I’m an instant fan of the deconstructed, upside down cheesecake. The cool, soothing texture of the cheesecake together with the frozen berries make for a refreshing finish to some of the tastiest burritos in town. We highly recommend those crispy chicken burritos if you’re headed out this way.

Tacofino Oasis, the fifth brick-and-mortar restaurant (and fourth Vancouver location) opens today and aims to grab the attention of financial district office workers and tourists alike. In addition, Tacofino encompasses a fleet of roaming food trucks, a growing workforce exceeding 250 employees and an army of dedicated fans.
Visit their spanking-new location at 122-1050 West Pender Street in Vancouver, open Monday to Friday from 11 am to 7 pm.
