Just in time for summer, KEEN’s popular Naples sandal is finding a home amongst my favourite summer shoes. The Naples is a pretty, yet versatile casual sandal perfect for cycling, beach seawalls and boardwalks, and summer parties.
The thing that keeps me coming back for KEENs (whether buying or reviewing them) is the out-of-the-box comfort. I never have to worry about breaking in a pair of their shoes, and the KEEN Naples is no exception.
Even as I write this, I’m wearing them indoors for the first few times, feeling their fit and going through my wardrobe to find some great shorts and skirts to match. Their criss-cross strap pattern nicely compliments the double strap near the foot’s outer arch.
Depending on your taste, the lightweight, yet rugged sandals are available in duo shades of brown (Cascade/Shitake), black and deep bronze (Black/Gargoyle) as well as the pair I chose, with deep red and orange hues (Burnt Henna).
These warm-weather cruisers are perfect for long walks, as a leather anatomical footbed containing natural latex and cork begins to conform to your arch from the start. The leather upper is water-resistant.
The adjustable straps include a hidden elastic on one side of the sandal for extra give near the instep. KEEN’s rugged rubber outsole completes the picture.
KEEN’s Naples has been in the Portland, Oregon shoe company’s lineup for several years. It retails for CDN $120/US $110. I noticed that the US KEEN site doesn’t include the Burnt Henna but the other two colour combinations are available.
