Yesterday afternoon, I had the chance to slip away from a busy writing session to meet with my friend Danica at SALONTEA on South Granville. The colourful tea shop features an array of tea blends, savouries, desserts, and tea products.

On this occasion, I enjoyed sipping from a pot of The Romantic tea, containing Chur She green tea with jasmine flowers. This low-caffeine content tea has a great little treat to compliment its flavour: a green tea/jasmine-infused macaron created by Kitchening & Co.’s Carly Wintschel.

The tea has a soft, delicate flavour derived from jasmine flowers.
Owner Tracy Stern’s teas are handpicked from some of the finest private estates around the world. Teas are custom blended with herbs, spices, and perfumed botanicals to create small batch teas with whimsical names such as The Musician, The Writer, The Artist, and The Lover. Tracy has quite the following amongst Hollywood celebrities, from Jamie Pressley to Paris Hilton.

Described as a “tea fashionista”, Tracy’s tea lip balms have also been gifted to the NBA All-Stars while “The Player” tea was poured at their All-Star suite. Vancouver store owner Sarah Ambrose has been working together with her tea blender to bring new assortments into the shop.
SALONTEA also hosts tea parties and various events. Check the website for updated information.
SALONTEA is located at 3010 Granville Street, next door to Meinhardt Fine Foods in Vancouver.
