I packed my Canada Goose Hybridge Lite Hoody and recently took it to Winnipeg, returning it home so to speak — the lightweight, technical down shell is manufactured in Winnipeg. The facility, opened five years ago, is housed in the historic location first built in 1916 for the Stovel Printing Company.
[Canada Goose factory, Winnipeg]
Canada Goose continues to expand with an additional factory and headquarters in Toronto to meet increasing global demand.
The jacket’s easy to pack into a suitcase, folding down nice and compact. I also plan on taking it on flights along with an empty pillowcase, providing the ultimate down pillow on long hauls!
Winnipeg’s fall temperatures were perfect for this jacket: it’s created for the 5°C/-5°C sweet spot that typically defines Winnipeg between summer and winter. The Hybridge has a hood that zips tight around the head, protects against the wind with a couple of reflective strips back there to keep you visible on cool evening walks and bike rides.
The first thing I noticed when taking the jacket out of its box is how SOFT it feels! The slim cut has side material that moves along with you. At each wrist is a reinforced thumb hole. Two front side pockets and a left chest pocket keep essentials at hand.
I’ll be getting a lot of use out of this jacket with everything from skirts and leggings to jeans and boots. It’s water-resistant too.
The Hybridge Lite Hoody is also available in Red, Silverbirch (white) and Pacific Blue and retails for CDN $575. A similar model without the hood is also available.
Canada Goose uses hypoallergenic, lab-tested Canadian down in all its products, offering the guarantee of cleanliness standards in producing their line of gear. They adhere to a strict policy of avoiding any materials that involve live-plucking of duck or geese during the harvest process.
