Vancouver music lovers, rope off May 26 on your calendars! The District of North Vancouver Firefighters Charitable Society will host local musicians Barney Bentall & The Legendary Hearts, Odds, Tom Taylor and special guests at Barn Burner, a fundraising concert in support of the new youth mental health unit at HOpe Centre at Lions Gate Hospital.
Barn Burner will feature musicians who call North Vancouver home. North Van’s The Pipe Shop building on Victory Ship Way will serve as the venue, featuring awesome views of Vancouver harbour and the downtown city skyline. Tickets are on sale now, with early bird prices in effect until April 30.
“As first responders we see the effects of mental health issues,” explains Doug Beckett, a District of North Vancouver Fire Captain and active member of the charitable society.
“We believe youth, especially in today’s world, need and deserve every opportunity to start their journey through life on an equal playing field. This opportunity is there at HOpe Centre. Our good friend Barney Bentall has been integral in getting this event together and we’re excited for a great night of music.”
Several local businesses have come on board to support this night of legendary music and fundraising, including Odlum Brown Limited, The Strongman Group, The North Shore News, Pinnacle Hotel and Deep Cove Brewers and Distillers.
