Scandinavian-inspired Hotel Ändra Seattle MGallery Collection is a boutique 123-room property located in the heart of downtown Seattle, just a six-minute walk to Pike Place Market, the city’s top tourist attraction.
The stately corner property hugs 4th Avenue and Virginia Street in the heart of Belltown. Ändra (which translates to change in Swedish) has beautifully transformed a historic 1926 building on a prime corner of downtown Seattle into a leading luxury hotel with museums, restaurants, music venues and the waterfront in close proximity.
Service is friendly and helpful; concierge and front desk staff can offer dining and route suggestions to help make the best use of your time in town.
Entering the lobby, I’m greeted with instant coziness: A fireplace going strong with an array of seating and couches, wooden illuminated bookshelves and holiday decor. Outside it’s dark and chilly, but in here, it’s hygge all the way.

[A handy Qi-enabled charging mat is located right on the desk]
Each room at Hotel Ändra infuses Scandinavian style furnishings with modern tech that includes a 37″ flat-screen TV with Google Cast, charging mat on the desk, multiple outlets and USB ports around the room, and an electronic safe.
The spacious room is smartly laid out with built-in luggage atop a space for stowing shoes. I love the variety of lighting here, from a small desk lamp to bathroom mirror with its own light settings. Lights are controlled via a wall panel and several can dim for a soothing evening atmosphere to help promote sound sleep.
Grooved wood graces the minibar and coffee making area, and a small sink at the corner comes in handy for refilling the Nespresso coffee maker.
The mini fridge is stocked with premium spirits, while a drawer contains snacks for purchase.

[A thoughtful touch: Scented shower bombs]
The bathroom may be on the small side, but the space is well utilized, with a wooden side cabinet for essentials, a pretty aqua-tiled shower with low-water shower head that produces good water pressure, plus wall-mounted luxury bath amenities by LATHER. Guests also have the option to purchase their own bottle Bamboo Lemongrass hand wash and/or Lavender Lime hand cream to take home.
Another plus are the towel racks and hooks in the bathroom to help save water by reusing towels. There’s even a silver hook right by the shower faucet for a wash cloth or shower pouf.
I pack both when I travel, so I was happy to have a place to hang them, as most hotel rooms lack this feature!
Speaking of reuse, the hotel participates in the Clean the World program in order to reduce soap and bottle amenity waste. They also recycle, and have a linen reuse program. Low-flush toilets and water-saving showers are standard in each room, as are smart HVAC and lighting, so that these only run in occupied rooms.
If you’d like to avoid turning on the airco, windows do open slightly for fresh air.

As for dining, Lola bar and restaurant has a relaxed atmosphere, with a Greek-inspired menu and selection of craft cocktails, fine wines, plus daily breakfast, while next door at Assaggio Ristorante, the focus is on authentic Northern Italian cuisine.

[Hot Stove Society lounge on the second floor]
Legendary Pacific Northwest chef and restauranteur Tom Douglas (of Tom Douglas Restaurant fame) has partnered with Hotel Ändra, home to his acclaimed recreational cooking school Hot Stove Society, one of the few of its kind in North America based inside a luxury hotel.

[Look for the cool antique mold collection up here too!]
Just across the street in a shared space are Dahlia Bakery and Serious Pie, both excellent choices for dining. In addition to Lola, Dahlia has you covered for an easy breakfast, a “second breakfast”, and an array of sweet goods to take away, while Serious Pie offers pizzas at lunch and dinner together with sandwiches and salads.

The “Nordic meets Northwest” hotel is just a six-minute walk from Pike Place Market and a 15-minute walk from the Space Needle. If you’re in need of a workout, there’s an on-site fitness center (the hotel also offers discounts to nearby fitness clubs).
Getting around on the light rail from Westlake Center is super handy, though for a more luxurious option, the hotel can arrange a town car to and from the airport (currently USD $75) or to other destinations around the city.
I really enjoyed this hotel for the comfortable bed and room, easy nearby dining options, and its proximity to all the good things that Seattle has to offer.
Hotel Ändra Seattle is located at 2000 West 4th Avenue in Seattle.
I was graciously hosted by Hotel Ändra Seattle MGallery Collection and Visit Seattle for the purpose of this feature. Opinions, as always, remain my own.
