As if Shaw BlueSky TV wasn’t already an amazing way to watch your fave shows, movies and sports teams with Shaw’s voice-activated remote, BlueSky TV is now fully integrated with Netflix.
All you have to do is sign into your Netflix subscription (via the Apps section) using your current username and password, and voilà, everything Netflix is now at your fingertips.
Say “Stranger Things” or (one of our new Netflix Originals faves) “Atypical” and the show comes right onto the screen in the familiar Netflix user interface.
The integration of Netflix into Shaw BlueSky TV’s interface means that every available episode of a show can easily be found in one place, regardless of whether it’s available through Netflix, Shaw On Demand, airing live, or recorded on the PVR. Say “Suits,” for example, and every back season and new episode will appear in an instant.
The voice feature and microphone work within SkyTV; you can launch the Netflix app (and navigate as you would normally within Netflix) but you won’t be able to use the voice commands that way.
I find I’ve been using Netflix both ways: within BlueSky when I know what I want to watch on Netflix, and via launching the app (saying “Netflix”) and navigating through the app’s menus when I just want to check out what’s on.
Either way, you’ll see recommended shows to watch based on what you’ve already viewed as well as genres and favourites. Live TV, video-on-demand, recorded content – and Netflix – are now all in one place. And if you’re a Shaw BlueSky TV customer, you can binge-watch on Netflix without worrying about data overages.
