For the third year, Feast in the Mountains was held this past weekend at cozy Rebagliati Park in Whistler, alongside rushing Fitzsimmons Creek. Rebagliati Park is located off a walkway between Whistler’s main and upper villages. It’s easy to miss if you’re not looking out for it. This little park was filled with tents and white linen-covered tables for guests to enjoy.
Seven local restaurants were paired with several BC wines, beers, and spirits.

A silent auction was included; proceeds will go to help Farm Folk City Folk in their efforts to raise public awareness of a sustainable food system.

[Pouring Whiskey Jack Ale from Whistler Brewing]
Both Whistler and Phillips Brewing (Victoria, BC) were at the event, pouring a few selections.
[Schramm organic gin and vodka selection]
Schramm Vodka sampled an organic potato vodka as well as an organic gin, most of the ingredients sourced from a Pemberton family farm. A total of 12 wineries (including Mendocino, California’s Bonterra Organic Vineyards) poured a wide range of varietals.
[La Frenz wines]
The crowd gathered around several of the food tents, a popular draw being Sidecut Modern Steak’s oysters. The kushi oysters were finished with both a tuna and steak tartare.
Daring combination, but a lot of positive reactions, particularly from the steak version, which apparently works well with an oyster. Sidecut is located inside the Four Seasons Whistler.

Lovely weather, great tunes, and a happy crowd made this a fun event to attend. Here’s a look at some of the moments that I captured that afternoon.
