Located on the Champ de Mars in Paris, France, the Eiffel Tower is one of the most well-known structures in the world. French engineer and bridge builder Alexander Gustave Eiffel designed the Eiffel Tower to celebrate the 100th year anniversary of the French Revolution.
Since opening in 1889, more than 250 million visitors have visited the tower, with more than 7 million people visiting the tower each year.
“For over a decade, HomeAway has brought loved ones together to create unforgettable experiences in whole home vacation rentals in more than 190 countries,” said Brian Sharples, co-founder and CEO of HomeAway. “Now we present this unprecedented Eiffel Tower history-making adventure, guaranteed to provide the most epic vacation memories of a lifetime.”
Four lucky winners (must be US residents), along with up to five additional guests each, will sleep on the first level of Paris’ top real estate location and wake up to breathtaking views of the city’s most recognizable attractions like the Arc de Triomphe, the Grand Palais, Sacre Coeur on Montmartre and the Seine River.
The overnight stays in HomeAway’s Eiffel Tower Apartment will take place June 23, June 28, July 4, and July 8, and each group of guests will enjoy a sumptuous gourmet dinner created especially for them. The vacation package also includes three additional nights in Paris at a luxurious HomeAway vacation rental and round-trip transportation. The winners will be announced on June 10, the day the tournament kicks off in Paris.
French interior designer Benoit Leleu will partner with HomeAway to create a temporary, family-friendly first-of-its-kind living quarters installed in the Eiffel Tower, complete with bedrooms and an inviting lounging area with stunning views.
The global community and HomeAway fans are invited to help shape the space’s final design elements through a #EiffelTowerAllYours crowd sourcing campaign on HomeAway’s social media channels, including Facebook and Instagram.
According to Mariano Dima, chief marketing officer of HomeAway, “Creating a temporary dream vacation property inside this world-renowned monument reflects our offering of private and comfortable accommodations perfect for making long-lasting vacation memories. This concept is an extension of our ‘It’s Your Vacation, Why Share It?’ campaign that shows the benefits of whole home vacation rentals.”
HomeAway is the national sponsor and global official fan accommodations provider for the UEFA EURO 2016. In addition to the sleepovers, the company will host football-related events in the HomeAway Eiffel Tower Apartment to complement the tournament sponsorship as well as other activities for thousands of Parisians, tourists, and football fans to enjoy from June 10 through July 10, 2016.
