Glowbal Group’s The Roof at Black + Blue has put together an amazing selection of mouth-watering brunch dishes on offer at their heated, colourful downtown Vancouver roof space.
Restaurateur of the the Year/Glowbal Group owner Emad Yacoub will soon be headed to Toronto, where he’ll receive the coveted annual award.
His nine service-oriented establishments around town all feature the highest quality ingredients served by a talented, dedicated staff and prepared by chefs who know the ropes.
Executive Chef Mark McEwan prepared several dishes from the menu, including Steak & Eggs ($18), Eggs Florentine ($14), double-smoked bacon, aged white cheddar, mozzarella and gem tomato breakfast flatbreads ($13), and Black + Blue’s Salmon Benny ($16) with house-smoked salmon, mixed greens, and potato hash.

Some of the beautifully prepared brunch items that made their way to my plate were the blueberry-stuffed French toast, Salmon Benny, and fresh Kusshi oysters. The potatoes are seasoned with parmesan, salt, and parsley, a simple ingredient mix that made them oh-so-tasty together with a custom omelette with asparagus, smoked salmon, burrata cheese and arugula.
The beverage menu features brunch cocktail favourites Mai Tais, Pimms Cup, Mojitos, and Mimosas. I enjoyed a hot brewed Tropical Green tea from Mighty Leaf Tea, with its citrusy mango flavour component to the green leaves.
Brunch at Black+Blue at the Roof is served on Saturdays and Sundays from 11:30 am to 3 pm. The restaurant is located on the third floor of Black+Blue at 1032 Alberni Street in Vancouver. Visit the website for detailed menus and opening hours.
