L'Occitane Autumn Wellness

Let’s face it: 2020 is basically a wash-out. We’ve had a bombardment of bad news from the Australian wild fires straight through to Covid-19, leaving many of us in an unbalanced state. Making things cozy at home, we often turn to scent and soothing creams to calm our day, and L’Occitane is one of our fave go-to brands for all things beauty and wellness.

This autumn, we chose a few products to showcase here — L’Occitane’s flagship Shea Butter Hand Cream, the new Coconut de Sérénité Relaxing Candle and the light and fragrant Thé Vert Eau de Toilette.

Green Tea Eau de Toilette

L’Occitane has revamped the label of their delicate, unisex Green Tea Eau de Toilette since we featured it several years back, but rest assured, this scent remains a lovely, delicate combination of subtle notes of green tea with the freshness of sweet orange and musk in a bouquet of floral and citrus notes. 100 ml (3.3 fl. oz.); CAD $69; available at Hudson’s Bay.

Shea Butter Hand Cream

L’Occitane’s ultra-creamy 20% Shea Butter Hand Cream lasts through a couple of hand washings, as the formula is thick and creamy to nourish dry, cracked skin. Organic honey, sweet almond extracts and coconut oil are all added to this tried-and-true formula base. As a green measure, the tube is made of 95% recycled aluminum too.

L’Occitane partners with Burkina Faso, West African women in producing sustainable shea butter while empowering their business savvy in a country that greatly relies on agriculture. 150 ml (5.2 oz.); CAD $35/USD $29

Giving Back

This year, L’Occitane has partnered with One Tree Planted, an organization dedicated to protecting biodiversity and supporting reforestation efforts around the world. L’Occitane and One Tree Planted will plant new trees across North America, including British Columbia, Quebec and Ontario. From now until Christmas Day, for every purchase of L’Occitane’s best-selling collections, they’ll donate a dollar to preserve biodiversity and to plant trees.
