We recently had the opportunity to recharge en route home to Vancouver from Curaçao at the Montreal Airport Marriott In-Terminal Hotel located inside Trudeau International Airport.

The modern, convenient and comfortable hotel served as our base for an overnight stay. Knowing that we’d not be leaving the airport until our morning flight, it was a nice change to leave our coats in the suitcases!

Once you’re through customs and baggage claim, it’s just a short walk down the arrivals hall and to the hotel’s fourth floor lobby with adjacent lounge, Café Illy and Bijou Resto Bar, all close to the check-in area.

Rooms

Our guest room is spacious and well laid out for a stress-free stay. Blackout curtains and soundproof windows allow for a fitful rest and our king bed is fitted with crisp linens, supportive pillows and a cozy comforter. It’s quiet on the runway as we observe a row of planes parked for the night outside our window.

The spacious room includes a long wooden desk with adjustable, dimmable lamp and an ergonomic chair. On the wall by the desk is a panel containing a series of standard outlets, phone, network, audio and video inputs as well as a USB port.

We’ve also got a nice long upholstered bench to open our suitcases underneath the 50” HDTV, and a closet with ironing board and iron, safe, plus a Nespresso coffee nook and mini fridge. Everything here is designed with ease in mind.

Each side of the bed contains both a lamp and small reading light. On one of our nightstands is a dimmable alarm clock with several standard plugs and USB ports on top.

At the end of the 8th floor is a fitness center, indoor heated pool, jacuzzi and spa, and on 9th floor is the hotel’s executive lounge for 24/7 self-serve small meals, snacks and drinks.

Dining

Grab a morning coffee, pastry or sandwich at Illy Café (open weekdays from 9 am to 3 pm) or experience Bijou Resto Bar’s cosmopolitan cuisine for breakfast, brunch, lunch or dinner, open daily from 6:30 am to 11 pm.

While savouring an early breakfast at Bijou, we enjoy the sunrise and watch several planes land (this is the perfect venue for plane-spotting!).

Location

Montreal’s Airport Marriott In-Terminal Hotel is located at the U.S. departures terminal inside Montreal-Trudeau International Airport. Downtown Montreal is less than 30 minutes away, perfect for a quick day or two to explore the city before your next flight.

On-site underground parking ($36 daily; $45 valet) and electric car charging is also available.

Air Canada flies direct to Curaçao several times a week from both Toronto and Montreal.

While onboard our flight to Vancouver, we noticed that Air Canada now offers a two-month free Audible membership for passengers.
