Another iPhone4 case has landed at my doorstep. The newly-launched iSkin aura for iPhone 4/iPhone 4S is an ultra thin hard case with brushed aluminum aircraft-grade material.
The case adds just over 1.5 mm to the iPhone and is very lightweight.
I noticed that the inside and sides are made of a matte material, making it easy to grip the case. So what’s behind the aluminum? A polycarbonate frame.
Not only is it lightweight, but it snaps on securely, leaving all ports free as well as no distortion while using the iPhone camera’s flash.
And per my usual “must have feature”, I can successfully dock it or plug in a 30 pin connector to either recharge the phone or to launch iTunes.
[What comes in the box, aside from the aura]
Getting the case on and off is about the same as any grip case I’ve reviewed to date. The one thing to note is that the case doesn’t have too much of a bevel on the front edges. In similar case designs, this can either be a small or large point of consideration.
I really like the fact that its brushed aluminum rear doesn’t accumulate fingerprints. The aura comes in (Dark Charcoal), Navy (Metallic Blue), and Silver (White) and retails for US $39.99.
What’s better than one case? Two! iSkin sent me an extra case (Silver/White) to give away to one of my readers. All you have to do is either comment below on your favourite iPhone case to date, or RT the following:
I’ve entered to win an @iSkin aura case via @arianecdesign
I’ll draw a winner at random on Friday, November 18 at 5 pm.
*UPDATE: Congrats to @spikedcupcake, winner of the iSkin aura case!
Disclosure note: I was sent two iSkin Auras: one for the purpose of writing this review and the other to give away to one of my readers: cmply.2
