Come celebrate more colourful blooms across the Lower Mainland! Produced by the City of Burnaby in collaboration with the Burnaby Rhododendron & Gardens Society, Rhodofest is a day-long (10 am to 3 pm) free event on May 7, with entertainment, mini workshops, horticultural and nature tours, plant sales, interactive arts activities and rovers.

Artisan and pottery sales alongside a silent auction help make this a fun-filled day out near Burnaby’s Shadbolt Centre for the Arts.
Also on May 7, join the Burnaby Art Gallery for a brief guided tour of Edwardian-era Ceperley House beginning every half hour from 1 to 3 pm (by donation).

A Tree to Honour Canada’s 150th (and Burnaby’s 125th!)
The City of Burnaby is one of 50 communities across Canada to be awarded $25,000 by the Canadian National Railway Company (CN) to fund local tree-planting projects in honour of Canada’s 150th anniversary. As part of this celebration a ceremonial maple tree will be planted at City Hall Boulevard (corner of Canada Way and Deer Lake Parkway) on May 7 at 10:15 am to usher in Canada’s 150th and Burnaby’s 125th birthdays.
