On Saturday, March 12, the Starlight Children’s Foundation will host its annual Sparkle Gala. For over 20 years, this foundation has been committed to helping children with chronic and life-threatening illnesses by providing entertainment, education, and family activities that help them to cope with the pain, fear, and isolation that comes with prolonged illness.
Through the program, children learn to understand their illnesses and receive support from others facing similar challenges. Ongoing support is key, from diagnosis through medical treatment. A sense of community is created where kids and their families can come together and have fun and maybe even forget their worries for a little while.
The Gala will help to ensure that these tremendous efforts are continued. Hosted by CTV and Rita Rogers from Canucks Sports and Entertainment, the event will include live Jazz music by Lesismore throughout the evening with a fashion show hosted by Vladimir Markovich of BC Fashion Week.
In addition, there will be a raffle and both a live and silent auction. A trip to Puerto Vallarta is up for grabs in the auction!
