This event promises to put all eyes on Vancouver once again, in the form of a design conference bringing international talent to our beautiful city. Some of the 25 speakers will include Marian Bantjes, Blair Enns, Ian Grais, David Mason, Debbie Millman and Oscar Peña.

The conference will be comprised of various workshops and industry leader panels providing insight into our evolving design culture, what value is presently placed on design, and other relevant topics of interest to the design community. As well, the conference will host the Graphex 2010 Awards gala, a biannual affair that highlights the best in Canadian design.

Design Currency 2010 is presented by the Society of Graphic Designers of Canada (GDC) in partnership with the International Council of Graphic Design Associations (Icograda). For those not able to make the gala event, there will be a selection of the top submissions on view to the public at the Pendulum Gallery, 885 West Georgia, Vancouver from May 2-10.

Another interesting way to collaborate during the conference will be at the Dinner With A Side of Design series. Three evening supper events will focus on three separate themes: culture, economy and sustainability. You’ll be able to collaborate with local leaders and designers in an intimate setting. The long table three-course suppers will be held at Irish Heather and documented for participant viewing after the conference. This is a separate ticketed event sure to be talked about for months to come!
