Yale Saloon Bull

Giddy up! Vancouver’s Yale Saloon offers a little something for everyone! The recently-reopened Yale Saloon has one of the biggest smokers in town, putting a big smile on Chef Mark Crofton’s face, as he prepares slow-smoked meats with homemade rubs and sauces for hungry meat lovers.

Live music is offered from Mondays through Wednesdays, including a blues night that brings in local talent to a stage located in the center of the dining room.

A big change from the former Yale Hotel, this new space brings the hottest country and rock tunes — and a mechanical bull! Think birthdays and stagettes. A full bar and some great BBQ is all you need to get the party rolling.

You and your closest 271 friends can step out and enjoy the mix of music with some great eats, from BBQ plates to salads, soups and burgers. If you’re lucky, the chocolate bourbon pecan pie will be on offer (the kitchen features one pie sort per evening).

Yale Saloon-2

We’ve missed the Yale. It was closed for nearly two years for renovations. A roster of local and international blues musicians have graced this building’s stage over the years including John Lee Hooker, Jeff Healey, Jim Byrnes, Colin James, Johnny Winter and James Cotton. Man, that’s a lotta J’s!

According to MRG Group president Matthew Gibbons (owner of the Biltmore Cabaret, Vogue Theatre and Yale Saloon), experiencing country, blues and jazz along with a hearty BBQ tops visits to both New Orleans and Austin, Texas.

Yale Saloon-4

Located at the corner of Drake and Granville Streets, the Yale Saloon’s open seven days a week from 5 pm to ‘late’ on weekdays and from 5 pm to 3 am on weekends.
