Rebirth Brass Band

The Grammy-award winning Rebirth Brass Band are set to perform a special midnight show on November 17 at the Vancouver FanClub. This high profile New Orleans ensemble was formed in 1983 by the Frazier Brothers. The Rebirth Brass Band’s played everywhere from the streets of the French Quarter to festivals and stages around the world. They’ve even toured with the Red Hot Chili Peppers.

The Rebirth Brass Band addresses the resurrection of New Orleans, more than five years after the devastation of Hurricane Katrina. The band upholds the tradition of brass bands while extending into the areas of hip-hop and funk, creating their signature sound. In a post-Katrina world, both their name and music have become the soundtrack of their musically rich hometown.

There’s often fierce competition amongst New Orleans brass bands, however Rebirth Brass Band is the undisputed leader of the pack.

The New York Times refers to them as “A working model of the New Orleans musical ethos: as long as everybody knows what they’re doing, anyone can cut loose.”

Don’t miss a chance to see these guys while they’re in town, performing for one night only!
