“When sleeping women wake, mountains will move.”
That was the message behind acclaimed communication expert and author of Capture the Spotlight’s Narges Nirumvala, CEO of ExecutiveSpeak, invited to speak at one of Aston Hill’s ultra-luxurious homes in West Vancouver’s British Pacific Properties.
After we were whisked away from busy Waterfront Station, driven across Lions Gate Bridge and brought high above the city (and treated to decadent treats, tea, bubbly and a light lunch curated by To Die For’s Erin Ireland), Narges spoke passionately in honour of women, driving home the fact that mindset is the most powerful thing we possess.

It wasn’t so long ago that Narges was hitting the pavement job-hunting, unhappy with long-term unemployment, and generally sitting around the house nibbling on chocolate. She realized that if no one would hire her, it was time to start out on her own. Getting fired was the single best day of her life as this led her to become a successful entrepreneur.

“Suck it up and aim to win, stop being your own worst critic, and cultivate a positive inner voice” — messages that we often hear but seldom take to heart.
She believes that successful women have a long way to go, because they’re not stepping through the doorway from success to power.
While enjoying an afternoon in the sunshine, I couldn’t help but be wowed by such a stunning backdrop of the city in a designer’s dream home!
