Last night’s Shake Up Yaletown saw a packed house of cocktail and food lovers descend upon Minami Restaurant. Bacardi rum was featured in the six cocktail entries that were judged by a panel as the drinks were made live one by one up at the bar.

A second award was chosen by the crowd as People’s Choice.
Shake Up Yaletown was part of the 10 day Taste Yaletown event in which several Yaletown restaurants have been offering prix-fixe menus priced at $25, $35, and $45.
The event continues through tomorrow; here’s a link to my earlier post listing the menus available.
Minami’s beautiful and scrumptious sushi creations complemented the cocktails. I wasn’t able to taste a single drink (still on antibiotics due to illness), but here’s a few that were served.

The six competing restaurant teams were Glowbal Grill, Hamilton Street Grill, killjoy, Minami, New Oxford, and Society.
Chris Breikss of 6S Marketing served it up as the event’s emcee.
[New Oxford’s winning 15th and Maple: Bacardi OakHeart, Benedictine liqueur, lemon juice, apple cider, walnut-infused maple syrup]
Congrats to killjoy’s Christian for taking People’s Choice award, and for New Oxford’s Julia Diakow for her winning cocktail of the night: the 15th and Maple. Both establishments are part of the Donnelly Group of restaurants.
