Ready for a juicy burger with beer-salt fries or “dirty” tots loaded with cheese sauce, brown sugar onions, tomato and jalapeños to take down to the beach and enjoy? Well, now’s your chance! Pigot’s Burger Club recently launched a pop-up space in English Bay for pick-up and delivery service.
Their small, curated menu includes three kinds of burgers using custom ground Berretta beef patties, a few Impossible Non Meat a Tarian burgers, plus Plain tots, Dirty tots, Fries and Kale Caesar salad.
If you’re not familiar with the name: It’s pronounced “Pee-Jo”. What started out as a little experiment in Chef Mike Pigot’s apartment has become a burger joint that is quickly sweeping across Canada (currently in Toronto and Calgary as well as Vancouver).
Pigot’s bragging rights include Best Chef in Calgary (2020) by Best of Calgary and a television debut on Guy’s Grocery Games on Food Network, in which he took home the top prize as winning chef.
Pigot’s Burger Club serves up yummy American-style cheeseburgers that were perfected during Mike Pigot’s brief hiatus from Calgary’s culinary scene. That led to a Calgary pop-up in a commercial kitchen space borrowed from one of his buddies. By the second day of business, Pigot’s sold out with over 750 burgers out the door!
According to Pigot, the burger is a culmination of his travels to the US combined with his love for a classic American cheeseburger.
Chef Pigot also just kicked off a collab with local culinary hero Chef Alex Chen, Executive Chef – Signature Restaurants and Iron Chef Canada winner. Vancouverites can chomp into a unique burger creation by Chef Chen available only on the club’s Vancouver menu.
Pigot’s Burger Club offers delivery through UberEats, DoorDash and Skip the Dishes, or pick-up from a borrowed storefront at 1795 Beach Avenue.
Pick-up orders can be made online.
