With a gloomy Vancouver Saturday on tap, why not check out the inaugural Vancouver Tea Festival, tomorrow from 11 am to 5 pm.
“Tea sits at the fortunate confluence of two of the most important societal trends in the 21st century – an increase in gastronomic sophistication, and a greater focus on healthy living – and in few places are those trends as evident as in Vancouver. Vancouverites from all walks of life are rapidly gravitating toward drinking tea, awakening to tea’s almost innumerable positive attributes.
One would be hard-pressed to find another niche within the beverage market experiencing growth as explosive as that of tea. Despite this growth, however, tea has still managed to stay mostly under the proverbial radar. Until now.”
Hosted by the Vancouver Tea Society, this event will showcase specialty tea in all its splendour to Vancouver and beyond. The festival has an easily-accessed-by-transit False Creek venue, the Creekside Community Centre.
Raise a hot cup of your favourite tea and head down to experience Vancouver’s biggest collection of tea vendors under one roof, while learning a thing or two about a beverage with a fascinating and colourful history.
