Hugh Hughes in Floating

This afternoon, I arranged an interview with Hugh Hughes, starring in Floating, part of this year’s PuSh International Performing Arts Festival.

Hugh hails from Anglesey, Wales. Floating was first performed in 2005 and produced by his production company, Hoipolloi. The show then travelled to Edinburgh for the Edinburgh Festival Fringe where it garnered both a Total Theatre Award and a nomination for The Stage Best Actor Award.

Hugh Hughes in Floating

Floating is a tale of his Anglesey (Hughes’ hometown) literally floating away from the Welsh mainland in 1982. At first many wouldn’t believe it, especially the Welsh. Audiences only started to believe this story once he collected evidence of the travelling town!

Very cool visuals! Can only imagine how neat this will be when performed live.
